Stephen Hoggarth

Stephen joined Perspective (North East) Limited in August 2021 as he wanted to provide fully independent, unbiased advice from a growing, forward-thinking company.

Stephen began his financial services career providing advice to clients, way back in 1989, when he joined the Prudential Assurance Company. After 12 years at Prudential, he then moved into a consultancy role with AEGON Scottish Equitable, working with independent financial planners and assisting on more complex advice cases. In March 2011, he made the decision to return to a client-facing advisory role and spent the next decade as an independent financial planner.

In his role, Stephen assists clients with their long-term personal financial aims, encompassing pension planning and investment/wealth management as well as inter-generational planning, to ensure wealth can pass down to their chosen beneficiaries by mitigating or reducing the effects of Inheritance Tax.

Stephen sees his role as being able to talk to clients without the technical jargon to ensure their understanding. He finds interacting with clients and the satisfaction of being able to assist them with their financial goals the most rewarding.

Outside of work, Stephen enjoys cooking various cuisines but probably spends more time creating curries or something else spicy. He enjoys keeping active by going to the gym, spinning classes and yoga practice. He is also a ‘fair-weather’ cyclist.
