Developing talent in financial planning

Welcome to the Perspective Academy. We created the Perspective Academy in 2014 to grow our next generation of financial planners and paraplanners who will share our client-centric and ethical approach which is firmly embedded within our business and supports our employees’ growth and career aspirations.

Step by step

Step One

Join Perspective as a financial administrator and begin training to understand the day-to-day role.

Step Two

Begin studying towards your level 4 Diploma in financial planning – once you are comfortable with the day job!

Step Three

Attend soft‑skills training programmes from our trusted partners (emotional intelligence, building relationships).

Step Four

Over time, you will transition from purely doing administration into a Trainee Paraplanner position. There is no time limit on this, but on average it is anywhere from 1-2 years.

Step Five

Continue completing your exams towards your Diploma – there are 6 and they are R01 – R06.

Step Six

Become a full-time Paraplanner and show evidence you can successfully deliver the day job, with more of a focus on technical training and capabilities.

Step Seven

Complete Level 4 Diploma!

Step Eight

Choose one of two routes: remain in Paraplanning or begin training to become a Financial Adviser. This is entirely your choice and is supported by our Head of Academy and your Line Manager.

Seven Nine

Continue your day job. There is an option for more qualifications at this stage too, where you can become Chartered!
